Australia’s Woodside Petroleum Ltd (WPL.AX) reported that it has found gas at the Noblige-1 well off western Australia, which analysts said could boost its chances of expanding its Pluto liquefied natural gas plant.

The press release is quoted as saying:

Woodside, operator of the Pluto gas export project that is estimated to cost up to A$13.1 billion ($11.76 billion), does not yet have enough gas to underpin the expansion and is conducting a 20-plus well drilling campaign in the Carnavon basin off western Australia in hopes of finding the needed molecules.
